We leave for Aruba next week, and to be honest- we can't wait to get away! Who doesn't love a vacation? There are
so many things we can enjoy about travel - seeing new landscapes, exploring different cultures and the food- ALWAYS the food!
Packing is the first step to starting your trip off on the right foot. It really is true - when you look good - you feel good. There is nothing worse than getting to your location and hating everything in your suitcase. We believe there are a few steps you can take to ensure that you get to your destination ready to enjoy and not ask - what am I going to wear today.
1. PLAN - It's no secret Jill is a much better planner than I. That's one reason we travel well together, I'm more go with the flow and she has the itinerary down to the minute. It works well because leading up to the trip you can already be thinking about the correct outfit to correspond with the activity. Having that done before you even leave, gives you one less thing to worry about when you arrive- and isn't that the ultimate goal of any getaway to - NOT WORRY!
2. PICK - I try to pick just a couple main colors and coordinate outfits around them. Spoiler alert - one of them is always black. Most of the time this comes together without me even trying - due to seasonality or location. This time the wedding we are attending has a color theme, so that made it easy and fun to plan around too!
3. PREP - A vacation isn't the time to try out a new mascara, sunscreen, and especially new shoes. So if there is something you want to use or wear on vacation give it a dry run at home. The last thing anyone wants to deal with is explaining to your new friend at the swim up bar that your weird rash isn't contagious.
4. PACK - I won't say I'm an expert planner but if you say go I can be ready in a hurry. I usually pack the night before I leave. Again, that's a big difference between me and Jill. She's probably packing as I type this. But below are some items I know made the cut and will be coming with me!
Tell us. What are your can't live withouts on a trip?
Good thing Jill had plenty of time to take care of those lashes.
